Sanaa.. The arrest of Dr Al-Awdi and his two companions

On Monday, November 10, 2025, authorities in Sanaa arrested Professor Dr. Hamoud Al-Awdi, professor of political sociology at Sanaa University, and two of his companions.

Dr Al-Aoudi’s Facebook account reported that the doctor and his two companions, “Anwar Khaled Shaab” and “Abdul Rahman Al-Alfi”, are in detention.

Media sources reported that Al-Aoudi was summoned by security and intelligence services on Monday morning and did not return, while his family lost contact with him.

Dr Al-Awdi is elderly and suffers from several illnesses, just like his companion Abdul Rahman Al-Alfi.
